Colleen + Kellen

Mar 10, 2011

We knew when we met Colleen and Kellen that we would love working with them.  They are just a really nice, down to earth, fun couple.  The vibe of their wedding was also really nice, down to earth and super fun. I love that they chose yellow as their main color. It really set the tone for a refreshing, fun and lively event. Their flowers were done by Allen’s Florist and were amazing.  I should also mention Kristy (Taylored Beauty),who did all of the girls’ hair for the wedding.  Everyone looked gorgeous, especially Colleen! And I loved catching the reactions people had when they saw the gorgeous bride (see images below).  There were so many things that made this day special, besides the couple being uniquely wonderful themselves. For starters, Colleen’s father was the officiant for the wedding ceremony, which made everything he said all the more meaningful.  And the flower girl and ring bearer were just adorable.  Before the ceremony, the ring bearer was a little shy/nervous and the flower girl hugged him and reassured him, which was the sweetest moment ever! You can see that moment in the image below.  Another great part of the day was that we had Cara, an awesome photographer, shooting with us.  She captured the adorable shot of the flower girl below.  And right before the ceremony at the North Chapel, someone had made a big heart in the sky, which you can also see below in the image Cara captured. What a perfect way to start the day off! After the ceremony, we took photos of Colleen and Kellen by Petco Park which was across the street from their super cool venue, The Culy Warehouse.  The music at the reception was mixed by Tim Altbaum, and he also did the lighting which looked so great in the space.  The food and coordination was provided by The Abbey Catering Co, and was stellar, as usual.  And we were so excited to see how Colleen and Kellen used our work in the space. They created a little installation in the room where the cocktail hour was, so that guests could walk around and check out images from the engagement session throughout the event. What a great idea!  Now, Colleen and Kellen are off trekking across Vietnam and we are very, very jealous.  We can’t wait to see the photos from their adventures!
