So, we can now say that we are connected to Kevin Bacon by one degree! (for those of you that are familiar with the trivia game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.”) We recently had the privilage of photographing his and his brothers band, The Bacon Brothers. Michael Bacon, a well known composer for film and television, and Kevin started playing together as kids and started their band about 15 years ago. With Kevin on vocals, percussion, guitar and harmonica and Michael on lead guitar and vocals, they’ve got some folk/country/rock going on. Kevin’s also got some great expressions and stellar stage presence, surely due to acting background. We love photographing artists of any kind and are especially fond of being able to rock out and shoot at the same time.
At the show, we also learned that being the good sport that he is and putting the joke made at his expense to a practical use, Kevin started a non-profit called Six Degrees. It’s pretty cool. It’s basically a catalog or menu for charity work. You can look up any issue that speaks to you, and Six Degrees will connect you with NGO’s/non-profits that are working effectively on that particular issue. Check it out.
