Marie And Sean | The Prado

Some images from a gorgeous Spring wedding at The Prado… Marie and Sean are a really relaxed, low-key couple who are obviously head over heals in love.  They planned an afternoon wedding in beautiful Balboa Park on a gorgeous Spring day.  Their decor was amazing! They incorporated a lot of old books into their center pieces and even made paper flowers from the pages.  Since they are both teachers and lovers of theater, this was perfect.  Another touch I loved…Marie had fabric from her Mother’s lace wedding dress added to her own dress. The neckline was absolutely gorgeous!  There were so many sweet, handmade touches at this wedding.  For their first dance, they danced to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” but an incredibly sweet version by Ingrid Michaelson.  I felt like this song was just so fitting for them… understated, authentic, simply and absolutely lovely.  Best wishes to this lovely couple!  I can tell they are going to continue to be very, very happy together.

These flowers were made for this window!
Love this sweet moment between mother and daughter.
Look at those eyes! Stunning.
I absolutely love the way her fingers are delicately reaching for her veil…
Dapper.
Officiants are using iPads!
Walking down the aisle.
Father of the groom…
The wedding party
The bike was kind of their mascot for the wedding, as it could be seen on their invitations, programs, etc.  So cute!
Books are works of art filled with stories, history, knowledge… Why not use them as centerpieces? What a cool idea.
A globe…another great decorative piece with lots of meaning…
Paper flowers made from the pages of books!
Check out that beautiful light.
Last dance of the day.
Our mobile photo studio, Snapshot Studios, was a huge hit! Everyone had lots of laughs and lots of fun.

Natalie and Brendan | Scripps Seaside Forum

This couple has the greatest story… Natalie is from the US and Brendan is Australian. They first met while they were both traveling solo in Thailand. And they had their first date five months later in Greece. And that was pretty much it for them…they were in love and stayed together even though they were many thousand miles apart.  So cool!  They are both just full of life and Brendan is quite the joker. We had a lot of laughs and a lot of fun with these two… Here are some images from their beautiful wedding in La Jolla at the Scripps Seaside Forum.  The venue is an incredible combination of beautiful, natural coastline and stunning modern architecture.  The vibe of the day was vibrant, lively and fun, as you can see from the colors and especially on the expressions on people’s faces! We took photos of the newlyweds on Mt. Soledad, where Brendan proposed, which was kind of perfect with the American flag waving in the background. Natalie will be joining Brendan in Australia, which will be their home base from which I’m sure they will depart on many adventures together. Their reception was a killer party with lots laughs (and cries), corn hole competitions and and even a worm competition, where two of the guests danced ‘the worm’ across the floor. The winner received a bottle of Tequila that had the worm inside it;-)

Raquel + Bayani | NTC and Ultimate Skybox

Raquel and Bayani are unique in so many ways, and their wedding was no exception.  One of my favorite things that they did differently was that Bayani planned the honeymoon and kept it a secret, so Raquel had no idea where they would be going…so cool.  I’m eager to hear where they went!  They also had such fun with their red couch, making it a prop that inspired a really cool engagement session and some of their unique wedding details. You can see their cake with the couch on top! They also had their wedding vows (in their own writing) pressed into the cake fondant. So cool!  And, you can see us with the newlyweds on the couch in their photo booth.  So fun!  Raquel and Bayani are passionate people…passionate about their relationship, about their faith and about life, in general. It’s truly inspiring to be around.  Thanks, you guys!

I know they are just shoes (below), but they are so fun to photograph!

Raquel getting ready at her parent’s home.

A moment of prayer before the ceremony.
Her sisters helping her into the dress. The dress was yet another unique piece of the wedding. I love it!
A moment with her father before entering the chapel.
Raquel and Bayani decided to save their first kiss for the altar.  Absolutely remarkable.
I just love the red umbrella.
Bridesmaid dresses were custom made for each sister… beautiful.
It’s all about the bird! (we are kind of obsessed with catching birds in our images).
We decided to play with some night photography during the cocktail hour.
Such a beautiful smile, she has.  And I just love the shadows on the building.
Such a cool idea!
The couch cake! And a close up of their writing. I am so in love with this idea… so unique.
They invite us to join in and experience the red couch:-)Engagement images behind us by their friend, Malia Dadez.

Courtney + John | La Jolla MoCA

As we learned on their engagement session, Courtney and John have an amazing sense of style… Their wedding day was no different. They designed their day with a mid-century theme, with the show “Madmen” as their inspiration.  Check out the photo of the guys in front of the Draper sign (if you watch the show, you’ll get why).  Their sweet ceremony under the sculpture at MoCA, included a reading from The Little Prince, and they danced down the aisle, post-vows, to “Shout” by the Isley Brothers.  This wedding was simply…phenomenal.

Jessica + Brian | La Jolla Woman’s Club

Some of our favorite moments from Jess and Brian’s wedding in La Jolla. Enjoy!
Jess’ expression says it all in this image.
An in-between moment while I was taking portraits of Jess. Her friend came over to adjust her dress, voila! That was the shot!
Jess and her father in a moment of anticipation before walking down the aisle.
Brian seeing his bride for the first time. Priceless.
Tears and laughter.
It’s all about the bird!
Brian and Jess’ idea…really sweet.
Brian and Jess are determined to conquer the world, hand in hand. I have no doubts they will be successful:-)
Father daughter dance.  His hand on her back says it all here.
These guys were quite the dancers!
And the party goes on and on.
