Leanna and Otto’s Hawaiian Plantation Wedding

Feb 6, 2014

Leanna and Otto are two creative, adventurous spirits who are in love with life, as well as with each other.  They put so much love and intention into every detail of their wedding, and with both of them being artists, everything was just stunning. There is just something magical about Hawaii, and this magic infused every aspect of Leanna and Otto’s wedding day. It kind of felt like a dream, really. It was really hard to select the images to share here on the blog, as everything was just oh so beautiful. So, I focused on the moments that made this day genuine, meaningful and magical.0002 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticGetting ready0003 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticThe epic invitations made by Leanna.  The invitations came to the guests as a message in a bottle…literally. The invitation was rolled up into a little bottle! So cool.0004 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticAloha0005 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticLast touches before the first look0006 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticLeanna and Otto embrace after exchanging lei’s in a special ceremony just for the two of them.0007 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticCan you believe this setting? These ruins are from an old sugar mill from the mid 1800’s.  The ocean is across the street…and look at those mountains. Just breathtaking! And the perfect spot to photograph these lovely ladies…0008 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic Photojournalistic0009 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticLeanna is quite the adventurer and also very athletic. I just LOVE that she was into climbing a tree in her wedding dress. She looks so beautiful and at home being cradled by the tree.0010 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticOtto rocking his amazing suit and tie and lei.0011 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticI just love the flower girl’s expression. Priceless.0012 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticI really like all of the layers in this image.0013 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticThe flower girl waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle.0014 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticSometimes subtle expressions can reveal so much emotion.0015 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticJust one of the many great moments during the beautifully meaningful ceremony.0016 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticHer expression says it all.0017 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticGrandma’s expression is amazing.0018 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticThe father of the Groom being comforted by his son as he gives the groom the wedding ring that his own grandfather wore. (The Artis family has a storefront and music bar on Oahu, and I highly recommend you check it out if you are ever over there.)0024 International Wedding Photographer San Diego Artistic PhotojournalisticThe magical evening ended with the lighting of floating paper lanterns, which flew up over the mountains and into the distance.
